FAIRFIELD — A local group hopes to “‘steer” county residents to better health by offering free CPR lessons at the mall.

Solano STEER will host 5-minute “CPR Anywhere” training on Feb. 14 at a pair of locations at Solano Town Center, 1350 Travis Blvd. Volunteers will offer instruction from noon to 6 p.m. upstairs next to Macy’s and downstairs next to See’s Candies.

The group said in a Facebook flier that participants in the life-saving training will be included in a raffle drawing.

Solano STEER is a group of government agencies and non- and for-profit health care organizations and professionals that have come together to “STEER” Solano County toward better health through research, education and pooling resources, according to its Facebook page. Partners include Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health Solano, NorthBay Healthcare, Medic Ambulance and the county.
