FAIRFIELD — More than 300 Solano County residents are expected to be part of the Solano Public Health and Emergency Medical Services Exercise from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

The exercise will take place at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, Kaiser Permanente in Vacaville and Vallejo, NorthBay Medical Center, Sutter Solano Medical Center, VacaValley Hospital and Solano Town Center, the Fairfield shopping mall.

The event will allow Solano County hospitals and first responders to test their ability to transport and treat a large number of earthquake victims. Shoppers at the mall can expect to see helicopter, ambulance and fire truck activity since it is serving as the official staging site.
