Solano cities, county, companies post holiday service schedules

FAIRFIELD — City offices are closed Friday and will reopen Wednesday in Fairfield and Suisun City.

Offices are closed Friday throughout the year in both cities as a cost-cutting measure. They are closed Monday and Tuesday for Christmas. Emergency services will be available.

Solano Garbage will not pick up garbage, recyclables and green waste on Tuesday. Those with Tuesday collection will get their service Wednesday. Wednesday service will be done Thursday, Thursday on Friday and Friday on Saturday.

The street sweeping scheduled for Tuesday will be delayed a day. The Dec. 28 street sweeping will be done Dec. 31.

Solano Garbage also reminds customers that all wrapping paper, with the exception of foil, is recyclable.

Vacaville City offices will be closed Friday and Tuesday. The offices will close at noon Monday. Recology drivers will pick up trash for Tuesday customers on Wednesday.

Rio Vista Sanitation Service will not pick up on Tuesday. Those customers will be served Wednesday. City offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Solano County offices will be closed Christmas Day.

U.S. Postal Service post offices will be open Monday, and mail will be delivered. Post offices will close Christmas Day, and mail will not be delivered.

The Daily Republic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to noon Monday and will close Tuesday for the holiday.
