FAIRFIELD — Solano County Sheriff Tom Ferrara has promoted Capt. Gary Elliott to be the undersheriff as one of several moves for the Sheriff’s Office.
Ferrara previously held that post under Sheriff Gary Stanton. Stanton retired Nov. 1 and the county Board of Supervisors appointed Ferrara as sheriff.
Elliott began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1989 as a correctional officer. The office hired him as deputy sheriff in 1991, promoted him to sergeant in 2001, lieutenant in 2006 and captain in 2010. His most recent assignments were working as custody division commander and being commander of the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team., a sheriff’s press release said.
Lt. Gary Faulkner has been promoted to captain and will replace Elliott as the custody division commander. His tasks will include managing the new jail being built on Clay Bank Road. Faulkner began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1994 as a deputy sheriff, became sergeant in 2002 and lieutenant in 2008, the press release said.
Ferrara also promoted Angelica Russell to be the office’s director of administrative services. She replaces Michael Medvedoff, who recently announced his retirement. Russell began her career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1996 as an accountant and became staff analyst in 1998, senior staff analyst in early 2000 and administrative services manager in late 2000.
