FAIRFIELD — The Solano County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration will conduct a prescription drug take-back event Saturday at the county coroner’s office.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 520 Clay St. in Fairfield.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, the event gives the public its seventh chance in three years to dispose of “potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.”
Drug takebacks are aimed at reducing the chances for prescription pill abuse. According to the DEA, Americans turned in 371 tons of prescription drugs at 5,800 sites nationwide in April.
The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
