Rural Pennsylvania Avenue closure extended

By From page A3 | June 21, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Pennsylvania Avenue in the rural county between Highway 12 and Cordelia Road is scheduled to remain closed through the month.

This half-mile segment closed in late April so Pacific Gas & Electric Co. could install a pipeline. The reopening date was to be May 21. A Solano County press release said the closure will last through June 30 so Barnard Construction can remove and replace asphalt between railroad tracks.

Drivers who want to travel between Cordelia Road and Highway 12 have such options as driving through downtown Suisun City or taking Beck Avenue. This is the same segment that previously closed for several months in 2012 when Fairfield installed a water line.
