By From page A3 | February 02, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Students at a Vacaville or Vallejo high school who demonstrate academic achievement, community service and leadership potential are invited to apply for an Officer Jim Capoot scholarship.

Kaiser Permanente is sponsoring six $1,000 scholarships for a two-year or four-year college in fall 2014. Applications must be returned and postmarked by Feb. 21.

For applications and for more information, send an email to [email protected] and include in the subject line “Kaiser Permanente Scholarship” and either “question” or “application.”

This is the third year for the awards that honor Vallejo Police Officer Jim Capoot, who was killed in the line of duty in November 2011. Capoot coached a basketball team in Vallejo and raised his family in Vacaville.
