FAIRFIELD — Skip Thomson and Erin Hannigan join the Solano County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
These newly elected supervisors will take their oaths of office. So will Board Chairwoman Linda Seifert, who was re-elected in 2012.
The Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. at the county Government Center, 675 Texas St.
Thomson will represent 5th District, which includes Rio Vista and Dixon and parts of Vacaville, Fairfield and Suisun City. He defeated incumbent Supervisor Mike Reagan in the June 2012 election. The Rev. Ken Doan is to administer the oath of office.
Hannigan will represent the 1st District, which covers most of Vallejo. She replaces Barbara Kondylis, who did not run for re-election. She defeated Anthony Intintoli in a November 2012 runoff election. Hannah Lesley is to administer the oath of office.
Seifert will continue to represent the 2nd District that includes Benicia, parts of Vallejo and the Cordelia/Green Valley area. State Sen. Lois Wolk is to administer the oath of office.
Then the new Board of Supervisors will get to work. Its first task will be to elect a new chairperson and vice-chairperson.
The Board of Supervisors will then take a break for a reception for the newly elected officials and to take an official Board of Supervisors photo. It will reconvene at 2 p.m. to vote on which supervisors will serve on which counties committees and on boards for other local and regional agencies. There are about 50 such committees and agencies, ranging from the Bay Conservation and Development Commission to the Delta Protection Commission to the county Local Agency Formation Commission.
