FAIRFIELD — The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Monday that’s in effect most of the day Tuesday through parts of Solano County.
High winds are expected in the Carquinez Straight and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region, and the western Sacramento Valley. The advisory also extends to the north Sacramento Valley.
The advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Area residents should expect winds to build in strength early Tuesday and reach advisory strength by 9 a.m., the National Weather Service reports. People should expect breezy to windy conditions throughout the day until winds calm after 8 p.m.
North winds of 15 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the National Weather Service reports.
Winds of such strength can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
