Motorists: Expect more Highway 12 traffic delays

By From page A3 | January 29, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Motorists on Highway 12 through Jameson Canyon could see more traffic delays this week as construction work continues on the highway-widening projects.

Workers are scheduled to do paving and concrete median work from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday. Eastbound and westbound lanes will remain open, but motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time, a state Department of Transportation press release said.

To avoid delays, motorists can take Highway 37 in Vallejo to travel between Interstate 80 and Highway 29, the press release said. Caltrans is widening Highway 12 to four lanes along 6 miles of this key link between Solano and Napa counties.
