FAIRFIELD — A 64-year-old man and his dog were killed Thursday in a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of Sutter and Louisiana streets in Vallejo.

Police responded at 8:30 a.m. to reports of a man down. They found a man suffering from major injuries and a dead dog. The man, a Vallejo resident whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, was transported to NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield, where he died, the police press release said.

Officers determined the man and dog were victims of a hit-and-run incident with a vehicle, the press release said. They ask anyone with information to call Officer Shane Bower at 800-488-9383 or to call Solano County Crime Stoppers at 644-7867.
