FAIRFIELD — The Solano County Library Foundation will celebrate its 20th year of supporting library and community-based literacy programs with a local authors’ event, barbecue and birthday party Sept. 13 at Wooden Valley Winery in Suisun Valley.

The family friendly event, sponsored by Bounty Books, will feature 14 local authors selling and signing their books.

Authors participating in the event include Loye Pourner, “The Land of Getalong,” Albert DeSilver, “Beamish Boy,” Jennifer Grimes, “Start Here,” Erika Van Eck, “Ace’s Wild,” Hans Berger, “A Bridge to Cross,” Thomas Sprain, “Derringer,” DeBorrah K. Ogans, “The Enchanting Legends of Shiloh Mansion,” Shirley Cinti, “The Adventures of Sebastian the Angel Kitty,” Lincoln Beals, “Take the High Road,” Gordon Westover, “Coasting on Wheels,” Roxanne Lance, “And Then There Was Gregory,” Bonnie DiMichele, “In Grandma’s Shoes,” and Frank Billecci, “Irene.”

Books will be available to purchase. Authors will sign them at the event.

The barbecue and birthday party is a warm-up for the foundation’s signature event, the 14th annual Authors Luncheon on Nov. 2.

That event brings some of the nation’s top authors, including New York Times bestsellers, to Fairfield. It has raised close to $100,000 to support literacy programs throughout Solano County.

Information and tickets for both events are available online at www.solanolibraryfoundation.org or by calling 421-8075.
