Lake Berryessa cleanup set in June

FAIRFIELD — A Lake Berryessa cleanup will take place June 8 to mark World Environmental Day.

The event is to be from 9:30 a.m. to noon, with post-cleanup festivities to take place at the Markley Cove Resort. People interested in participating should contact Marianne Butler at [email protected] or 301-5778.

All participants should wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots and bring work gloves if possible. Everyone who preregisters by May 31 will get a free World Environment Day shirt and a free lunch, an event press release said.

The Lake Berryessa Watershed Partnership is sponsoring the event with funding from the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Fairfield and the River Network. The Bureau of Reclamation and Solano Resource Conservation District are organizers.
