Industrial glue sends some Solano County Assessor staff home

By From page A3 | February 27, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Thirty-eight employees of the Solano County Assessor’s Office went home Wednesday after complaining about odors from industrial glue used to install carpeting, county spokesman Stephen Pierce says.

“The smell could be for some,” Pierce said, “a little much.”

Pierce said the installed carpeting covers a little more than two cubicles.

“It was a really small patch,” he said.

Pierce said he knew of no one requiring medical attention because of the industrial glue incident, which began at about 10 a.m.

“Those who felt they did not want to be there,” he said of Assessor’s Office employees, “were given the opportunity go home.”
