SUISUN MARSH — People can take a guided hike through Rush Ranch open space from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 11, with a focus on bird songs.
The event will begin with a brief demonstration of bird songs heard in the area. The hike will include listening for birds and is to be done leisurely.
Participants can meet guide Gayle Vaughan in the brick courtyard at ranch headquarters. They should bring water, snacks or a picnic lunch, boots or sturdy, closed-toed shoes and protection from sun, wind and fog. Binoculars are recommended, an event press release said.
To attend, please call Vaughan at 745-8322. Rain or strong wind cancels. Call Vaughan if the weather is uncertain. Rush Ranch is located at 3521 Grizzly Island Road, about 2 miles south of Highway 12 in Suisun City.
