Hike coming up at King-Swett ranches

By From page A5 | February 16, 2014

FAIRFIELD — The Solano Land Trust is offering a guided hike in the hills between Fairfield, Benicia and Vallejo on March 1.

The 9 a.m. hike will take participants for 4 to 6 miles off trail, through the hilly King-Swett ranches, an open space preserve owned by the Land Trust. Views on a clear day include a distant Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Tamalpais, San Pablo and San Francisco bays, Suisun Marsh, Mount Diablo and the Napa River.

Hikers should meet hike leader Jim Walsh at the park-and-ride lot where McGary Road, Hiddenbrooke Parkway and American Canyon Road intersect near Interstate 80. They should RSVP by contacting Walsh at [email protected] or 916-870-4824. Call Walsh the day of the hike if the weather looks uncertain.
