FAIRFIELD —  Night-time closures are scheduled for Highway 12 in Jameson Canyon from Monday through Wednesday.

Closures will begin at 11 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. Work crews are preparing for a major traffic switch that will put motorists on a new section of the future westbound Highway 12, a state Department of Transportation press release said. Crews will be placing safety barriers and striping sections of roadway.

During the closures, motorists can travel between Interstate 80 and Highway 29 using Highway 37 in Vallejo, a Caltrans press release said.

Caltrans is widening  the six-mile section of Highway 12 through Jameson Canyon to four lanes. This is a major link between Solano and Napa counties.
