Highway 12 delays possible this week

By From page A3 | March 13, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Workers are scheduled to do striping on Highway 12 in Jameson Canyon this week and that could cause congestion at times.

Crews at times will alternate lane closures on eastbound and westbound Highway 12. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times. Work is to be done between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, weather permitting. Motorists can avoid delays by using Highway 37 to travel between Interstate 80 and Highway 29, a state Department of Transportation press release said.

The work is part of the Highway 12 widening project that is to be finished this summer and will make the highway two lanes in each direction.
