By From page A4 | February 13, 2014

FAIRFIELD — The Solano Community Foundation is accepting applications from music teachers at all public and private schools in the county for mini-grant funding up to $1,000.

The grants are offered to support music programs and projects for all grades – kindergarten through 12th grade.

Grant funds are for the 2014-15 academic year for the purchase of musical instruments, sheet music, uniforms and accessories, and other expenses directly connected to music practice and performance, according to a news release from the foundation.

The money comes from the Wong Endowment Fund at the Solano Community Foundation, established by Donald and Rose Marie Wong of Vacaville.

Last year, the foundation awarded eight mini-grants to music programs throughout Solano County.

All application forms and instructions for the Wong Music Mini-Grants are available on the Foundation’s website at www.solanocf.org.

The deadline for submission is noon, March 14. For more information, contact Connie Harris at Solano Community Foundation, at 399-3846.
