FAIRFIELD — Three financial aid workshops for college-bound students in Solano County will take place next week.
Assistance will be available for students working to apply for federal and state financial aid before the annual March 2 deadline for the 2013-2014 academic year. Free assistance will be available in English and Spanish with the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid, Dream Act application, Cal Grant GPA Verification and Chafee Grant for Foster Youth.
The first workshop takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Solano College Vallejo Center at 545 Columbus Parkway. The next will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Solano’s Fairfield campus in the 500 Building at 4000 Suisun Valley Road. The final event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Vacaville campus at 2001 N. Village Road.
Sen. Lois Wolk, D-Davis, will speak at the event Tuesday in Vallejo. The workshops are being hosted by Solano Community College and two UC Berkeley programs.
