SUISUN CITY — Local astronomy enthusiast Jim Jerrell will help people find the constellations and planets in the early fall sky on Oct. 5.
The event will begin at the Rush Ranch in Suisun Marsh at 7 p.m. with a presentation in the Rush Ranch Nature Center. Participants will then move outside to view the sky through telescopes at about 8 p.m.
Participants should bring warm clothing and might want to bring mosquito repellant. They should cover flashlights with red cellophane that will be available at the event. Latecomers should dim their headlights, an event press release said.
Rush Ranch open space is located on Grizzly Island Road about two miles south of Highway 12 in Suisun City. The Rush Ranch Educational Council and the Solano Land Trust, owners of Rush Ranch, are hosting the free program.
