FAIRFIELD — The Solano County Fair Association board of directors recently elected new officers as it continues with its mission to produce the annual fair at the county fairgrounds in Vallejo.
Ray Bell of Fairfield is president, Denese Allen of Vacaville is vice president and Marilyn Royse of Vacaville is treasurer. They will hold their offices through August 2014.
Bell in a press release said the fair board is involved in such projects as plans to renovate the fairgrounds and the continued expansion of year-round activities highlighted by the annual fair.
In addition, Lee Williams has joined the board as a Solano County appointee for Supervisor Skip Thomson’s 5th District. Williams was born and raised in Birds Landing, graduated from Rio Vista High School and is a captain for the Montezuma Fire Protection District. He and his wife Paula in 2001 opened Williams Mobile Service.
The Solano County Fair Association is a nonprofit agency governed by a board of directors with three representatives from each of the five county supervisorial districts.
