FAIRFIELD — The Solano Coalition for Better Health selected longtime local health care advocate Joanie Erickson as its executive director, according to a press release.
Erickson assumed her position on Dec. 2.
“Joanie has full support of the board and we are confident that her experience and knowledge of the Solano Community will help the coalition continue to improve the health and well-being of all our residents,” said Max Villalobos, board president of the coalition, in a press release.
Erickson has worked in nonprofit health care in the county since 1984. She served as the director of public relations for NorthBay Healthcare and was most recently the director of public affairs for the Kaiser Permanente Napa-Solano region. She is also on the board of the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Vacaville Rotary Club.
The Solano Coalition for Better Health is a nonprofit organization founded in 1988. Its stated mission is to improve the health and quality of life for Solano County communities, neighborhoods and people by providing leadership, focusing resources and developing partnerships.
Its programs include the SKIP children’s insurance plan. Member organizations include Solano County Health and Social Services, Kaiser Permanente, NorthBay Healthcare, Sutter Health, Partnership HealthPlan, Community Medical Centers, First 5 Solano, La Clinica, Planned Parenthood, Solano Community College, Solano Medical Society, Solano Office of Education, Touro University and the United Way.
