FAIRFIELD — An upcoming opportunity will allow Solano County residents to get rid of unwanted prescription pills.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26. The following are drop-off sites:
Pills, liquids and creams can be dropped off. Needle waste will not be collected but residents can go online to Recycle.SolanoCounty.com for a list drop-off sites. Look for the link for sharps disposal.
Participants are asked to remove all personal information. Pills can be in plastic bags; all liquids and creams must be sealed.
In April, 742,497 pounds of prescription drugs were collected at more than 5,829 locations manned by 4,312 state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies that partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to a press release issued by the Department of Resource Management.
