Docents to lead paddling tour in marsh

By From page A4 | April 24, 2014

SUISUN CITY — A guided tour through the Suisun Slough next month will offer a different look at Rush Ranch.

Solano Land Trust docents will lead a boating tour from the Suisun waterfront from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10 that shows Rush Ranch from the water. Participants must bring their own kayaks or canoes and personal flotation devices.

This is an easy to moderate trip for experienced paddlers, and winds and tides can make the sloughs more challenging, according to a Land Trust press release. Rain or strong wind will cancel the tour.

There is a fee, and space is limited to 10 boats. Registration is required by May 8. Those younger than 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

To register, visit http://conta.cc/1ixQ48i or call Natalie DuMont at 432-0150, ext. 200.
