DIXON — Gabrielle Altmiller, 8, of Vacaville, will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday to raise money for childhood cancer. The event is at 1120 Bello Drive.
A press release for the event says the youth lost a grandfather, grandmother and a friend to cancer.
The Alex’s Lemondade Stand Foundation emerged from the front-yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who lived from 1996 to 2004. In 2000, the then-4-year-old announced she wanted to have a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer.
The nonprofit has raised more than $65 million. More information can be found at AlexsLemondade.org.
