FAIRFIELD — Citizens with vote-by-mail ballots are encouraged by the county Registrar of Voters to turn them in early.
Tuesday is the last day people can request a vote-by-mail ballot for the Nov. 5 election. The Travis School District, which covers parts of Fairfield and Vacaville, and the city of Vallejo are having elections.
“Voters can weigh their choices and cast their ballot from the comfort of their homes at times convenient to them,” Assistant Registrar of Voters John Gardner said in a county press release. “If they turn in their ballots early, they can speed up the reporting of election results on election night.”
Voters who want to turn in their vote-by-mail ballots in person can do so at the following locations:
The county encourages voters going to the polls to cast their choices to complete their sample ballots in advance to avoid delays at the polls. They should also review the address of the polling place listed on the back of the sample ballot. Some polling locations have changed since the previous election.
