County seeks residents for redevelopment oversight boards
FAIRFIELD — The Solano County Board of Supervisors is looking for residents interested in serving on oversight boards related to redevelopment agencies.
The oversight board will oversee the activities of the successor agencies as they dissolve the former redevelopment agencies in Fairfield, Suisun City, Vacaville, Vallejo, Dixon and Rio Vista. State legislation approved last year and a California Supreme Court decision affirming that legislation called for redevelopment agencies to be dissolved beginning Feb. 1.
Each successor agency must have an oversight board of seven members appointed by multiple governmental jurisdiction. The Board of Supervisors, under law, can appoint one resident to each of the six oversight boards.
A letter of interest should be emailed to cao-clerk@solanocounty.com or mailed to Myra Chirila, administrative secretary, Solano County Board of Supervisors, 675 Texas St., Suite 6500, Fairfield, CA, 94533. The letters should specify which oversight committee the person is applying for.
Deadline to submit letters of interest is 5 p.m. Feb. 21. The Board of Supervisors will consider the appointments at its Feb. 28 meeting.
