FAIRFIELD — Solano County will conduct several workshops to help parents and other family members better understand the child support process.

One workshop is called Compromise of Arrears. It looks at how to reduce past state-owed child support debt, legally known as the compromise of arrears program. It will take place May 13, June 10, July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 7 and Nov. 4.

The other workshop is called Review and Adjust. It looks at how people can modify a court order if they are paying too much or receiving too little in child support. The workshops are June 16, Aug. 21 and Oct. 23.

The free workshops are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Solano County Department of Child Services, 435 Executive Court North in Fairfield. To sign up, go to www.solanocounty.com/childsupport and click on Outreach & Workshops, or call 784-3640.
