VACAVILLE — A coalition of community, education and business leaders will host informational meetings in preparation for the second Opportunity Conference Solano 2013.

The Opportunity Conference brings together community residents, those who live in poverty and those who can help them.

“We want to get the word out about the upcoming conference and our need for community volunteers to make it work,” said Laura Escobar of the United Way of the Bay Area, in a press release.

The United Way of the Bay Area is one of the organizations sponsoring the event.

All meetings are from 7 to 8 p.m. The first is Tuesday at Vacaville Town Square Library, 1 Town Square Place. A second meeting is planned Wednesday at John F. Kennedy Library, 505 Santa Clara St., Vallejo. The Fairfield meeting is Feb. 28 at the Civic Center Library, 1150 Kentucky St.

The Opportunity Conference is May 11 and will feature Donna Beegle, the founder and director of Communication Across Barriers and Poverty Bridge. For more information, call 422-8810.
