FAIRFIELD — Three Vallejo residents were arrested Thursday in connection with a string of toll plaza robberies on the Carquinez Bridge.
Robert Larry White, 43, Christopher Lee Miller, 30, and David Joseph Morales, 47, were taken into custody.
The men are suspected of targeting toll takers at the bridge between Crockett and Vallejo three times between late 2011 and May 2012. Investigators used surveillance video and stolen car reports to identify them.
California Highway Patrol officials said the toll takers were robbed of between $5,000 and $6,000 by a masked passenger, sometimes flashing a gun from the back seat of a car. The CHP is investigating the involvement of as many as seven more people.
The CHP’s Investigative Services Unit worked with several agencies, including the Solano County and Napa County sheriff’s offices, and police departments from Vallejo and Benicia to apprehend the suspects.
