Fairfield City Councilwoman Pam Bertani will make an announcement concerning her candidacy for the Solano County Board of Supervisors District 3 seat at noon Wednesday at the County Government Center Old County Building, 675 Texas St., Fairfield. Incumbent Jim Spering announced Jan. 8 that he would seek re-election.

District Attorney Don du Bain will speak about the “dropout crisis” at a fundraising dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Favela’s Fusion Restaurant, 1500 Oliver Road, Fairfield. Du Bain has not formally declared his intention to run for re-election, but he will be joined at the dinner by Fairfield Mayor Harry Price, Supervisor Jim Spering, Solano County Board of Education Trustee Mayrene Bates and others.
