Caltrans schedules work at I-80 ramps

By From page A3 | April 03, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Interstate 80 ramps at two locations will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday so crews can trim trees, remove litter and clean drains.

One location is from Travis Boulevard onto westbound I-80. Motorists heading to westbound I-80 from northbound Travis Boulevard can take a detour on Oliver Road to another onramp. Motorists heading to the westbound freeway from southbound Travis Boulevard can get onto eastbound I-80, then turn around at Air Base Parkway and enter westbound I-80, a state Department of Transportation press release said.

The other ramp to be closed is from westbound I-80 onto Oliver Road. Motorists who want to exit the freeway here can continue on I-80 and get off at Abernathy and Suisun Valley roads, the press release said.

Detour signs are to be posted. Whether work goes forward depends on the weather. The work had originally been scheduled for Tuesday, but was changed because of storms.
