Solano County

Board to discuss Health and Social Services leader

By August 20, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Solano County supervisors will conduct a special meeting Tuesday, one that will see them behind closed doors.

Supervisors usually don’t meet the third Tuesday of the month. They will do so this month to discuss the vacant Health and Social Services director position. The closed session is to begin at 9 a.m. at the county Government Center, 675 Texas St.

Ann Edwards stepped down as Health and Social Services director in June. Former director Patrick Duterte is filling the role on an interim basis.

The department has a $289 million budget and more than 1,200 employees. The department’s tasks include administering public assistance programs, running health clinics and providing child welfare and mental health programs.
