WINTERS — People can take part in a nature walk at the county’s Lake Solano park and learn about birds.
The walk will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 12. It will begin at the nature center in the park at 8685 Pleasants Valley Road. The walk is free, though the park has a parking fee.
Barbara Cooper will lead the walk. She’ll share why this area is a magnet for both year-round bird residents and migratory birds. She’ll talk about “bird lore,” such as how birds have figured in myths and religions of the world, an event press release said.
Heavy rain will cancel the event. For more information, visit www.solanocounty.com/parks or call 432-0150, ext. 200. For same-day information, call 530-795-2990.
