FAIRFIELD — For the second day in a row temperatures at Travis Air Force Base dipped to a record low, hitting 26 degrees just before 4 a.m. Wednesday.
It’s the third time in a weeklong cold snap that Travis has hit a record low with the mercury dropping to 21 degrees early Friday and 24 early Tuesday.
The overnight low in Vacaville was 24 degrees at the Nut Tree Airport, recorded just before 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Freezing temperatures were expected overnight Wednesday before overnight lows rise to the mid-30s and low 40s later in the week, according to the National Weather Service.
