Annual plant sale returns to Solano College

The week aheadFAIRFIELD — Just as Mother’s Day comes around each year, so does the annual Spring Plant Sale, which benefits Solano Community College’s horticulture students.

The sale will take place on the days leading up to Mother’s Day: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

More than 20 varieties of tomatoes will be available, along with other vegetable starts, California natives, perennials, landscaping plants, herbs, succulents, houseplants, seasonal bloomers and floral arrangements.

Cash and checks are accepted. Proceeds go to scholarships, reference materials and equipment for the horticulture students.

The sale will take place at the Louise Wilbourn Yarbrough Horticulture and Plant Institute, 4000 Suisun Valley Road. Parking is available in Lot 6.
