FAIRFIELD — An Aldea Children and Family Services mental health program is one of six that is a finalist for a national award.
The program offers mental health first aid training to help people identify and assess mental health issues and provide low-level intervention and referrals. Since 2010, more than 1,000 teachers, first responders and residents in Solano and Napa counties have taken the training.
Mental Health First Aid USA oversees such training in the United States and will present a Best Community Impact Award. For more information about Aldea or its MHFA training, call 224-8266 or visit www.aldeainc.org.
