By From page A4 | February 22, 2014

RIO VISTA — The state Department of Transportation canceled a nighttime road closure it had planned for Saturday night on state Highway 160 south of Rio Vista.

Caltrans over the next two months plans to close Highway 160 each night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from the junction with Highway 12 to Wilbur Avenue south of the Antioch Bridge. With the Saturday cancellation, closures are to resume at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Workers are renovating the Three Mile Slough bridge deck and control house at a cost of $3 million. Detours could cause some motorists to drive an extra 80 miles to reach their destinations, according to Caltrans.
