Dump the pump event encourages public transit use

RIO VISTA — The Delta Breeze bus service will be participating with other public transportation systems Thursday in the nationwide Dump the Pump day.

The slogan for this year’s event, sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association, is “Dump the Pump. Save Money. Ride Transit.” The day encourages people to ride public transportation instead of driving a car.

To encourage ridership, the Delta Breeze will give free rides on all its routes Thursday. One random passenger will receive a free intercity bus pass for July on each route during the afternoon trips.

The Delta Breeze provides service within the city of Rio Vista and Isleton with intercity service to Fairfield, Suisun City, Antioch, Pittsburg/Bay Point BART station.
