Then find somebody else to whine over Travis’s civilian worker’s fate–OK? The Air Force RIF’s lost of people over the years. Then there’s your elected US Senators. For years they whined about how much they hated the uniformed military and military spending. Dont you remember Babs Boxer’s commerical asking why we have to pay for Germany and Japan’s defenses? So in 1992 Boxer and Feinstein got what they wanted—peacetime downsizing and the closure of lots of California Military Bases! Lets do it again!

No one said they were guaranteed a job, especially a government job. I only said lets be more compassionate about the people who will lose their job and hope that the economy will improve allowing more job openings, either through private or public. Why do you always have to be so abrasive? Your responses in most cases are off on a tangent to the topic or response. In this case you mentioned the US Constition, what for? To let us all know its not explicitly written in there? You like the negative attention I think. You make the distract from the situation and in most cases add no value.

Not cool. People need jobs and lay-offs are always difficult for the indivdual and their family. Hope we will be able to improve job opprotunities and these people get back to work soon.

Sounds good to me as a start to the cutting. There are whole work centers and departments I would eliminate and downsize. Why do we need a disgraced junior officer who faked her own kidnapping in Kyrgyzstan costing us hundreds of millions running the Travis ''Protocol'' unit? That's not a ''tip of the spear'' billet. You guys know the facts---wholesale corruption and an inability to win and conclude a war fought half-heartedly for 11 years with no victory in sight.
