Former 349th commander to get second star

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE — Former 349th Air Mobility Wing commander Brig. Gen. Maryanne Miller has been selected by President Barack Obama to get her second star, according to an announcement from the Defense Department.

Miller, who ran the 349th Air Mobility Wing from January 2008 to November 2009, is serving as deputy director of Partnership Strategy at the Pentagon. The promotion now goes to the Senate for confirmation.
