TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE — David Grant Medical Center was awarded the 2012 Air Force Surgeon General Award for Best Hospital for the Year, according to the hospital’s Public Affairs Office.
The award is presented to the active-duty hospital or clinic that has made significant contributions to customer service and supporting the Air Force mission during the course of the year.
“We have some of the most talented medics in the Air Force at this hospital,” David Grant commander Col. (Dr.) Kevin Connolly said in a release announcing the honor. “This award really is a testament to the teamwork and intense dedication our airmen medics have at DGMC and the support we have received and the opportunities we were given from Travis.”
David Grant also collected six other individual and three major team awards, including Best Inpatient Facility Patient Safety Program and Outstanding Medical Logistics Account of the Year, Large Activity, operated by the 60th Medical Support Squadron.
