4 Solano County employers earn national award nominations

FAIRFIELD — Four Solano County employers are among the businesses put forward by 231 California Guard and Reserve members for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve announced Tuesday.

The Freedom Award is the Department of Defense’s highest recognition for employers that support employees who serve the Guard and Reserve.

Solano County’s four nominees are Greiner Heating and Air Conditioning of Dixon, the California Department of Fish and Game offices in Fairfield, and California State Prison Solano and RSI, both of Vacaville.

Nationwide, there were 2,899 nominations. The semifinalists for the 2013 Freedom Award will be announced later this spring. Up to 15 award recipients will be announced this summer and honored in Washington, D.C.
