The grand opening and dedication of the Court of Serenity, which recognized the late James L. Campi Sr., was celebrated Sept. 10 at the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.
The bronze plaque dedicated to Campi, in appreciation of 38 years of service as trustee and chairman of the board for the Suisun Fairfield Rockville Cemetery District board, was ceremonially unveiled by his wife, Cheryl Campi, according to a Suisun Fairfield Rockville Cemetery District Board press release.
Earl Kilmer, family friend and trustee on the Suisun Fairfield Rockville Cemetery District Board, recognized Campi “as a significant part of the planning and construction of the Court of Serenity.”
Congratulations to the Suisun-Fairfield Rockville Cemetery District board for recognizing and honoring such an important person who helped shape how we remember our loved ones.
Beth Lancaster is the September employee of the month for Solano County government.
The Department of Information Technology got to make this month’s selection. Lancaster came to the county in June 2007 as a business systems analyst, providing support to Health and Social Services. In 2010, she was project manager for implementing an electronic health records system for the Family Health Services division.
Lancaster is committed to her duties, has a strong work ethic and strives to exceed expectations on her assignments, a county report said. She will get a prime parking space in the county parking garage for one month.
Suisun City Mayor Pete Sanchez once again threw his support behind the upcoming countywide SoFitCity challenge this week by issuing a proclamation announcing Sept. 28 as SoFitCity Day in Suisun City.
The competition pits city against city to determine which community in Solano County is the most fit. Suisun City captured that title last year. Sanchez said he expects Suisun City’s residents to reclaim the honor.
“We are determined to take the trophy again this year,” said Capt. Jonathan Harvey of The Salvation Army, who recently hosted a SoFitCity rally at the Kroc Center.
Good job to Mayor Pete Sanchez and Capt. Jonathan Harvey for seeking to bring the SoFitCity title back to Suisun City.
