Veterans Day parade officials accepting entry forms

FAIRFIELD — Organizations can submit their entry forms for the Nov. 11 Veterans Day Parade in downtown Fairfield.

The Fairfield Main Street Association and American Legion are planning the parade and commemoration event.

The parade begins at 12:30 p.m. and the theme is “Freedom is Never Free.” The grand marshal is Brig. Gen. John Flournoy Jr., commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base.

Forms are available at www.fairfieldmainstreet.com or by calling 422-0103. The deadline in Oct. 29. Ribbons will be awarded in nearly 30 categories, with trophies for the Grand Sweepstakes and Best Use of Theme winners. All participants will get a certificate.
