FAIRFIELD — A vehicle fire forced temporary closure Monday afternoon of a portion of Interstate 680 in Fairfield.
The fire was reported on northbound I-680 just south of Gold Hill Road. It blocked one lane of traffic, which prompted a regional traffic alert shortly after 1:15 p.m.
All lanes were open shortly before 2 p.m. – a little more than an hour after the fire was reported, according to the regional Transportation Management Center.
