2 local toy drives launch

FAIRFIELD — Members of Soroptimist International of Central Solano County, airmen from Travis Air Force Base and Sleep Train employees will conduct toy drives over the next few weeks.

The Soroptimist Club will accept toys for Toys for Tots from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Solano Town Center mall. Residents can donate an unwrapped toy for children of any age, by Sports Authority in the mall’s lower level. For more information, email kehairfield@aol.com.

A team of 34 airmen from the 373rd Training Squadron, Detachment 14 will collect toys in multiple locations through the holidays for Toys for Tots. Gifts can be dropped off from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends through Dec. 22 at the Travis Base Exchange; from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 22 at the Walmarts at 2701 N. Texas St. in Fairfield, 1501 Helen Power Drive in Vacaville and 235 E. Dorset Drive in Dixon; from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 16 at the Build-A-Bear Workshop store in the Solano Town Center mall and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 16 at the Babies R Us store at 1400 Gateway Blvd. in Fairfield.

Meanwhile, Sleep Train is having a toy drive for foster children through Dec. 16. Donate a new, unwrapped toy or gift to any Sleep Train location. For more information, go to www.sleeptrain.com.

Sleep Train stores are located at 1595 Holiday Lane, Suite B, and 5121 Business Center Drive in Fairfield and at 140 Nut Tree Parkway, Suite 200, in Vacaville.
