Truck fire blocks I-80 traffic through Vacaville

By August 3, 2011

FAIRFIELD — An 18-wheeler carrying a load of paper material caught fire about 11:30 a.m. today.

The incident, which occurred west of North Texas Street on Interstate 80, was snarling traffic from the east side of Vacaville through Fairfield. Motorists were asked to find an alternate route as two lanes of the highway are closed and traffic is moving slowly with estimated speeds of about 25 mph.

The California Highway Patrol estimated that the two lanes will be open about 4 p.m.
