FAIRFIELD — The state is shutting down the eastbound Highway 12 connector to eastbound Interstate 80 in Fairfield on Tuesday so crews can make emergency pavement repairs.
Work is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end at approximately 2:30 p.m., the state Department of Transportation announced. Detour signs will be posted to direct drivers during the ramp closure.
Drivers headed onto eastbound I-80 from eastbound Highway 12 will be detoured onto Red Top Road. Drivers will then enter either eastbound or westbound I-80 from Red Top Road.
Caltrans officials advise drivers to allow for extra travel time and to expect delays.
